Hi,

I am new to all this... and so confused.

So, I have so many questions and I don't know where to go.

I've been married since December to the love of my life.

I am currently in the process of moving out, but I am freaked out because I read all sorts of things online.

I have so many questions and I am under so much stress.

I need all the help I can get.

I appreciate ya'alls input!

Ask away

Awright. All of my stuff is gone in February. I am crossing the borders by car with my cat.

We are going to use an attorney to do all the spouse filing, but we're meeting them in TN.

What do I say when I cross?

Any papers needed, printed?

Can they stop me from entering?

I'm such a worrywart.

Usually Canadians are allowed 6 months entry as a visitor, you can start the process now, well your spouse can, sooner the better.

You mentioned taking your cat, if you turn up with a fully loaded car you might be asked questions that will be difficult to answer.

Thank you, appreciate your answers.

Car will not be loaded, just me and my cat.

Probably not that unusual for Canadians to bring Cats when visiting.

get that, but I have a lease and a phone under my name that is in his country.

How long am I able to stay if I just visit and then start the process there?

What process are you planning to start ? Consular spouse or other..?

If all your “ stuff” is being shipped to the US in February ( next month) and you already have a lease agreement in the US ..and you and the cat are worried about how to answer CBP …does it mean you are planning a 6 month visit to the US?

Perhaps your US spouse would like to join us here.
