Paying for green card first time entry

Hi there , so my wife have IV visa and will enter usa within next month , do i have to pay for green card now or i can do after sher enter usa ? Some people say if i pay it now she will receive her green card faster ???!!!

It can be paid either before traveling or after she enters the US.  The plastic Green Card will not be produced until the fee has been paid AND she has entered the US.  Most people pay before traveling to the US. I would pay it now as it will be produced immediately upon entry.

They ask about A number but the embassy didnt give her any number they just print the visa for her

You will get a letter with instructions on how to pay. Also it has been my experience whether you pay before or after you come. It is not a guarantee that you will get green card fast. It takes from 2-6 months to get it

As in any product,  the sooner u pay for it,  the sooner u get it

 

As said above ,  entering the US triggers the green card to be processed but only if its paid for

meanwhile the visa is stamped at with the words :I 551 acts as green card for a year"
