A personal experience

MIL came to visit on tourist visa mainly to see if she would like it and we would follow thru with the process to bring her permanently

we looked into health care insurance as she is a diabetic (and found the policies expensive and coverage is -plainly put lousy with big yearly deductibles)

she didn't bring enough medication for 3 months so we ended up taking her the 2 hours to a dr in atlanta that spoke her language and then paid out the over $600 for her 2 medicines for each of the months she was here

she was ill while here and family in moroc told me it was because she didn't keep a healthy diet so i worked on that but in truth it was appendicitis

and when he returned home ,, it turned into an emergency .  we paid $1000 for surgery in Moroc

that would have dented our savings here by a lot more

so,  think about this with all info about health care insurance and what it will -in actuality  cost u -its not just a bed and food that parents need

A Green Card will not prevent them from being pulled into secondary.  I think your logic is faulty.  A Green Card is for living in the US.

Methinks the logic is not faulty. Although a Green Card will not prevent them from being pulled into secondary, it guarantees they can’t be turned away at entry which is what the OP is afraid of.

With that said, unless the parents are planning to actually live here permanently and visit the home country, a green card will eventually be revoked if they continue spending more time outside the USA than here.

OP Should think it through carefully. I was pulled into secondary on my second visit to the USA some 25 years ago, didn’t have a subsequent adverse effect. It happens.
