I'm going to drop the I-129F (K-3) and go with the I-130 (IR-1/CR-1). I don't want to deal with adjustment of status (AOS) down the road. I have questions.

1. How can I stop I-129F from going on? I want to stop I-129F. What is my next step? Do I write or call the National Visa Center to stop I-129F?

2. On the form I-824 Part 2 which box do I check? Box C? or Box D?

IR-5 for wife's parents:
3-24-2014: I-130 approved
4-08-2014: USCIS sent to NVC
5-07-2014: Case recieved at NVC
5-15-2014: Case number & IIN Assigned
5-21-2014: Completed DS-261
5-22-2014: Sent ENROLL EP email
5-27-2014: Sent AOS through EP
6-14-2014: Case number change from GUZ to GZO

7-04-2014: Sent DS-260 fee

7-07-2014: Sent Civil Documents

7-08-2014: Completed DS-260

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8-27-2014: Case COMPLETE! YES!...YES!...YES! :joy::thumbs::dance:

You don't need to stop the I-129F and I wouldn't advise attempting to. You may well decide later that's your best option, so there's no need to shoot yourself in the foot over it now.

You check box D.

Be aware we have no evidence that suggests action will be taken on your I-824 anytime in the next six or eight months. Nobody (or is it just one?) has reported action being taken after an I-824 filing to restart the I-130. Now is probably the worst time to try it considering the rush of petitions to beat the fee increases.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

As pusbrk said! No need to stop the I-129F .

You can take your pick later.

Won't cost anymore.

WISE move by the way!

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship
