Assuming she can find a way to remain in status the entire time.  Going to be tough to stay in status for 8 years while on F1 visa.

Bachelors 4 years

Stem OPT 3 years

That is 7 and you have only started your further education. I have seen people well into double digits.

Check the visa bulletin.  Only F2B cases with I-130 filed on or before Sept 22, 2015 are getting visa interviews now -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2023/visa-bulletin-for-january-2023.html

Yes seems like that’s about 8 yrs.. I don’t know why the processing times on uscis website has it as 5 yrs

Hmm, did not think there was anything on the USCIS site?

If you mean the USCIS processing times tracker, that only includes the I-130 petition processing time.  Applicants cannot get visa interview or file I-485 before PD is current on the visa bulletin.

Yes I meant the processing time.. now I understand that the PD is what matters.. so the PD will have to get Jan 2023 and then she can have her interview and in the mean time the i-130 will be approved

So the PD date is by country or is it the same for everyone

Currently 4 categories, that may change due to country limits
