1-130 Proof of Marriage Translation/Apostille

Hello,

 

Do I need to translate and/or apostille our Marriage Certificate? We got married in Mexico City so its in Spanish.

 

Or is just the original document good?

Any document containing foreign language submitted to USCIS shall be accompanied by a full English language translation which the translator has certified as complete and accurate, and by the translator's certification that he or she is competent to translate from the foreign language into English.Jul 25, 2021

Excellent, so a professional translation but NOT an apostille, just to be clear.

  Anyone who is fluent in both languages can translate and certify the translation.

An apostille is not required.

you may want to change your visa status on here from K1 to CR1

it will help the VJ community when u ask further questions down the road

I used a service called Southeast Spanish, Inc. for anyone that may come into this thread. Was $59.00 USD, came with a certification and an emailed PDF and mailed copy ($49 for translation and $10 for 2 - 3 Day shipping). I also received in about 15 hours via email.

Done, thanks for letting me know. K-1 was the original plan.
