I recently filed i130 petition for my husband  online, I know that when paper filing the i130-485 are filed together but how does online filing work?? Am I suppose to wait for the i130 to approve and then send the i485 application.. doesn’t that make the wait even longer?

You need to send a copy  of the I797,  received from filing the I 130, with the  paper filing for the I485

Yes. The receipt You attach a copy of the receipt to the paper filing for AOS. They wont accept it without it. Address is to whatever the I 485 is supposed to be sent.

If you're filing I-130 and I-485, please make USCIS and your life easier - send it in one packet with all other forms in one go. Don't do parts here (online) and there (paper). This can lead to confusion and delays.

For some reason I thought online filing would be quicker and preferred but now I realize I shouldn’t have done that and I totally regret it definitely creates a mess!

I hope you've included I-130 receipt in your I-485? Some people here said it worked for them just fine, so don't get worried ahead of time. Maybe it'll be just fine!

You can easily make it ok by attaching the receipt for the I 130 to the I 485. In the grand scheme of this whole process you haven't caused any significant delay. You have done nothing wrong. Many many people have submitted online I130 and then paper I 485. Breathe !! Next step. .. you can do it !
