Normally this is where there has been an asylum claim where eventually it ends up in Immigration Court, meanwhile the claimant has found a USC to marry and want to stop the asylum process and go with marriage based adjustment.

Normally.

Really down to your lawyer the prosecution lawyer and the judge, not a standard process, the person to ask is your Lawyer..

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I am currently in the same process. Me and my partner went thru the interview for his greencard ( I-130) and we got approved but due to some issues with his immigration status from years ago, we had to do the Joint Motion To Reopen. We did that in the spring of 2021 and we are still waiting for a response. It is almost 2 years and there is no change in this process.
