We tracked the delivery using the DHL method and then waited a week before emailing the embassy to confirm receipt. They stated they mailed it out on XX day. Had we not inquired with them by email, we would have just received the physical letter.

The welcome packet (packet 3) contains a bunch of paper including the instructions, checklist, a printed copy of I-134, and a printed copy of our I-129F.

Hi. May I know how long did you receive your packet 3 after your case has been on a "Ready" status? Also, did the US Embassy Singapore send you an email once they mailed out the packet 3?

They were slow and it took 2 weeks to receive packet 3 in mail after the embassy received it from NVC. They do not send an email to you.

You'll need to mail back the completed I-134 and DS-160 confirmation right away while scheduling the medical. They will not schedule the interview until medical checkup form is sent to them by the clinic as well.

Thank you for the reply. So the US embassy Singapore will schedule my interview or can I make my own appointment? Will I still need the packet 3 before I can request for the Certificate of Clearance/police clearance? I have yet to receive our NVC case number, just roughly checking on our timeline.

They will offer you the first available day/time available (via sending you an email, where you login to select date/time), which you should accept, though they likely have later ones available. You don't need packet 3 to request the police clearance or marriage search result , both of which you need for the interview so take care of these in advance.

We just got our interview date today! It will be for 16-May-2023. We didn't get any kind of packet or instructions, just a link to travel state gov. They said we can use the email as an official appointment letter to use for going to take the medical examination.

Congratulations! I wish that was for me and my fiancee's K1 interview in Nigeria.

I am from the January group and ready status was in April. No word from Embassy or packet 3. Tried to call no answer and can't email directly. For all I know it could be another 6 months to a year. So frustrating that there's no way to get answers or check a timeline estimate.

I'm not really familiar with the consulate process, but there are a bunch of embassy details here that might be helpful: https://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Nigeria&cty=Lagos

I ended up sending the Packet 3 (without actually receiving it) and it took them about a week to send us the Packet 4. YMMV but it's worth a shot.

Waiting to find an appointment now.

I saw this on Page 14 of this Forum / topic. We haven't received packet 3 or anything yet (although NVC sent to Consulate 3/28/23). I'm not sure what 'sending in Packet 3' means, but I wondered if that process might work for me here with our case in Nigeria. Thanks to anyone with any tips.

hey!

The packet 3 for the montreal embassy was linked on their website. Not sure if the same is true for your embassy.

So we essentially filled out that 'packet 3' and emailed them (as was detailed in the packet 3)

We received the actual packet 3 about a month after the `Ready` status on the CEAC website.

Hope that helps!

Hey everyone I just wanted to update that CEAC has now been updated to approved as of today 21-May-2023.

After the interview on the 16th, she was given a "soft" 221g white slip and instructions to provide evidence we've met within the last two years. Yeah I know, something we probably should have compiled with the rest of the documents we prepared for her interview. This one just went right over our heads. Within a day and a half we prepared a three inch thick folder of the requested evidence and she shipped it over. It was received on the 18th and now today the status changed to approved.

It's been a crazy ride, still not quite over yet but it feels so good knowing all the hard work we put into this will not go to waste.

In further discussion, this looks like it is 40 days to receive case from USCIS and then 60 days to process and then send to embassy, per visa journey. So average time currently for it to get to NVC and then get sent to embassy is close to 90 days. Sigh.

How did you do that?
