Did George Santos lie about everything?

The Times found that he apparently did not graduate from Baruch College, he did not work for Goldman Sachs or Citigroup, there were no records of him being a successful financier, nor were there of him registering his animal rescue charity. The Times also found that he had been charged with check fraud in Brazil.

Further, a number of outlets have found no evidence of Santos’s repeated claims to be Jewish, to have Jewish heritage, or to be descended from refugees fleeing the Holocaust. Santos even described himself at one point as a “proud American Jew” in a campaign position paper.

Also, Santos lied about having lost his mother to the 9/11 attacks AND staff at the Pulse nightclub shooting, and that he's been out and proud for a decade, when he was married to a woman until only a few years ago. No trace of his husband can be found. He claimed to be a real estate investor with multiple properties, but in fact owned none. On top of that -- and most importantly -- no one can figure out how this guy can go from being so broke that he was unable to make rent to having enough money to being able to loan his own campaign $700k. These are really serious questions, and Santos is acting like everyone lies on their resumes, so who cares?

 

I really feel for the people of Long Island who voted for him. They cast their votes in good faith and it turns out their representative-elect is an admitted, serial, maybe even compulsive liar. I am no big fan of Tulsi Gabbard but she eviscerated him the other night on Fox.

I did see a comment that he would not be standing for reelection, presumably looking to make his money in one term. From what I could gather he was nominated with the expectation he would lose, maybe that was why nobody looked to closely? Or at all. Sadly I can think of many many other Politicians with issues, issues well known before an election, but seemingly made no difference.

 

And to the big question, why do you not like Tulsi?

I think if Santos can be arrested / convicted / sentenced / removed from office  for lying so can every politician.  
 

I trust after the police in NY are finished with Santos they will deal with Biden next.

It was labelled as his husband when all this started coming out but I would imagine most people would now want to see extra evidence,

That is really the thing that gets me.  All this moral outrage over a politician lying by a bunch of lying politicians, and the folks that fall for those lies.

If the Dems do go after Santos, the GOP will weaponize going after politicians who lie. They are already planning to weaponize tax returns.  We all want to know how Nancy Pelosi achieved a net worth of $100M.  And we will find out.

There was a bit about this on NPR yesterday, so there is a Congressional process to off load him but the commentators thought this was very unlikely, they did not exactly say so but obviously setting such a precedent well, not a good way to go when there are so many other contenders. Who would be next?

 

The suggestion was that he may have separate financial investigations against him, where did all this money come from? Also cheque fraud from Brazil has popped up from many years ago.

 

His first day in office is today!

While a judge in Brazil greenlit a charge against Santos in 2011, he had already gone to the US. Because Brazilian authorities needed to officially notify him to the charges before the case could proceed, the case ground to a halt. Brazilian prosecutors will now file a petition in court asking that Santos respond to the charges, after which Brazil’s justice ministry will send it to the US justice department.

Biden never responds to any questions of his corrupt dealings.  The Democrats in general and many of the GOP DC insiders are beyond corrupt.  What else is new?
