I follow this for a family member and am surprised to see that her online status remains with "Your case is being actively reviewed" from the date of her submission, without even biometrics after nearly four months. How common is that?

Just a small update that I had the family member log in to her USCIS online account and she found a PDF in the Documents section dated the same day as her online N-400 submission mentioning biometrics reuse. So while she never got the physical letter in the mail, it looks like I was worrying for nothing. It would be nice if the regular case tracking mentioned biometrics reuse but at least now we know. For reference, the online account says there is an estimated six months until case completion, but I guess everyone here says that that part is never accurate, right?

I started gathering my original documents for my n400 interview(I751 pending) on may 17th. Just checking if I am doing it right.

So, I have original documents like my child's birth certificate, wife's naturalization certificate, marriage certificate but for other documents like tax documents, bank statements, I just printed out irs transcripts from my online irs account and bank statements from my online bank account. Is this the right way to do it?

I dont need these printouts notarized..right? Also, I have printed out 3 months recent bank statements from my both joint accounts..is it enough or should i print out more than that like last 12 months?

Anything else i need to bring to the interview? My education cerrificates?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Since my husband's N-400 interview is Wednesday, we got all of the documents together over the weekend. We are bringing the required docs as listed in the interview letter and a mix of old and new marriage evidence, just in case they ask for anything.

Here is a list of what we are bringing, in case it helps anyone. Or if anyone notices something we're missing, please let me know!

  •  H's Green Card
  •  N-400 Interview Letter
  •  H's Driver’s License
  •  H's Australian Passport (new and old)
  •  Marriage certificate (original & copy)
  •  W's divorce decree (original & copy)
  •  W's birth certificate (original & copy)
  •  Tax transcripts for the last 3 years (2020, 2021 and 2022)
  •  Apartment leases (All from 2019 - Present)
  •  Joint bank account statements (new ones since filing N-400)
  •  Joint HYSA statements (new ones since filing N-400)
  •  Credit Card statements (new ones since filing N-400)
  •  Joint Water Bills (Selection of old ones + new ones)
  •  Roth IRA Beneficiary Letter
  •  Documentation of W's Beneficiary/Benefit Elections
  •  Documentation of Joint Car Loan
  •  Documentation of Joint Car Insurance

Can't wait to be done. Also, since we are hoping for same day oath, we nabbed a passport appointment on May 25th to get the ball rolling on that as soon as we can.

Just for anyone wondering, I had my urgent passport appointment this morning in Houston.  This likely applies anywhere - arrive early because you have to do security screening for any federal building and passports are a hot commodity.  We were there by 8:30am for my 9am appointment, but didn't get through screening and upstairs until 8:55am.

You NEED your confirmation number provided when you made your appointment.

We got to the security agent who asked for the confirmation number and sent me into one line and hubs downstairs to wait for me in the café - there just isn't enough room.  Even parents who were there with kids - they were sending one parent with the kids to the café with instructions for the parent in line to text the parent with children to come up when their number was called. If you do have kids and need to get their passports, even if they are infants, they have to be present.  One couple didn't read instructions, didn't bring their child, so one parent got into line and the other had to go pick said infant up from child care and bring baby back.

Got into line to get my number where the agent called me up, asked for my confirmation number, checked that I had my application and a legitimate travel need and handed me a number.  I was told to turn around and join the next line of people with numbers.  The place was pretty busy and only got busier.  While we were waiting, the security agents started filling chairs in the room.  Those people had to wait to even join the line to get a number to join the next line to visit a passport agent.  Anyway, I was chatting with a pair of nice gentleman who were also waiting with me which helped pass the time.  One was local, the other had driven down from Austin.  The later had to dart out and pay the meter so his truck didn't get a ticket and a wheel boot.  I suggest finding a longer term parking solution since it took about an hour and a half to get to the front of the line and we were "on time".

The passport agent was really great - I was organized, had my application filled, my naturalization certificate and copy, my DL and copy and my record of travel.  She asked for my confirmation number and took my paperwork.  She then had me raise my right hand, declare I hadn't applied for another passport and that the photos were of me.  She checked everything over, handed me back my DL and gave me a receipt to pick my passport up in 2 days time.  I asked a couple of questions about getting my children's passports that she happily answered, I thanked her and off we went.

Back I go Wednesday.  The lovely agent did state that I may end up having to wait a bit to pick up if they didn't actually have the passport printed, so fair warning there.

One step closer to the actual end of our immi journey!  Just a passport pick up, 2 kid passports and 2 N-600's to go...

Hey guys. One more good news. I have my N400 interview on may 17th. I was just stressed out if my local field office(columbus ohio) have my pending I-751 file as well because i never got any online status for i751 being transferred to different office(its originaly in MSC). I just called USCIS customer care today and they confirmed that they could see that my I751 file was already with my local field office. I asked them when did they receive it and he again confirmed that they had received it on april 17th. Everything is set now. All i have to do is pass my interview :)

I just feel better having a copy of original docs on hand so my husband doesn't mistakenly hand over an original for the IO to keep, if they happen to ask.

Mod please delete if wrong sub. I just want to ask Jan filers with pending I-751 about the case transfer. I finally got scheduled for N-400 interview in June. My field office is Columbus OH. However, there has been no update on my I-751. Only case received on the website but I received receipt and biometric waiver. Although I will prepare for the combo interview, should I call USCIS asking if my i-751 has been transferred? I really don't want to be in the nightmare situation: pass N-400 but have to wait for I-751

 Thanks!

I just had my combo interview, however my 751 application was still at another service center. So I passed both but can’t take my oath until my case officer gets the physical application. He put a request for it in, usually takes 14 business days… I’ll get my ceremony date notice in the mail.
