I-130 has been approved after 11.5 months for Spouse at Nebraska Service Center - Receipt Notice Date Jan 12, 2022. I-130 has been approved on Dec 28, 2022

Congrats,  the i-130 for my wife also took about 11 1/2 months.

Hi,

What did you submit with your I-130 application? Can you provide a list of items? Sorry, if this was shared already but it is little bit confusing to apply for a spouse in the U.S vs. Outside the country. I am interested in the outside the country (consular processing) but some forums say, submit bonafide marriage proof with the I-130 some says nothing about it. If you have the cover letter, that would be greatly appreciated.

Same proof, but there’s less focus on living together and combined finances if it’s a long distance marriage. So if you don’t have a joint lease or joint bank account, it’s understandable and not scrutinized.

Thx, talked to a friend who recently went through the process but he was not asked to submit about finances. Keep in mind that this is an outside the U.S application, not submitting with I485 or anything. So, 10-15 pictures of the wedding would be enough, he said. 

 

His lawyer submitted so, he did not have a cover letter to share with me. Anyone has a cover letter for bringing a spouse from outside the U.S?
