Merry Christmas to you all

.

Please I just wanted to find out if its compulsory to contact nvc after DQ for more than a year and not hearing back from them to keep our case still opened or we just wait until nvc contact us for the interview date.

If above question is YES, can the beneficiary contact nvc or it must be the petitioner.

Thank you for your quick response.

It's not required to contact NVC, but it also won't harm your case to do so.  Might give you some peace of mind to contact NVC and have an email trail.  Either the petitioner or the beneficiary may contact NVC.

 look to lower subject under

I would like to contact NVC to keep my immigrant case active.

How do I keep my NVC case active?

To keep your case active, do not let more than one year pass without contacting NVC. To do so, you can submit fees and/or documents through the Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC), https://ceac.state.gov/iv.

You skipped the part where NVC says contact is not required if the case is already DQ -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition/step-2-begin-nvc-processing/helpful-hints-iv-processing.html

  • You do not need to contact NVC to keep your case active if you have received notification your case is documentarily complete.
