So far where hubby and i live in Nebraska we havent stumbled across any other scots  so when i the non USC start talking everyone stops what theyre doing and listens to me yapping, and their like...oooooo what did she just say lmao it can be funny at times but nine times outta 10 i gotta keep repeating myself like an old record which gets boring after a while.

So yer, i consider myself one of the rarest species in Norfolk, Nebraska :D:whistle:

I'm going with my home area of northern Wisconsin. In that case she would be pretty rare. Since I just moved to southern Arizona, I guess there is a pretty good sized Asian community in Tucson.

One of the biggest reasons I love California is the cultural diversity here. I believe there's nearly a million Filipino's in California, with over half living in the LA area. I think for anyone marrying a foreigner, having that kind of familiarity nearby makes their transition to America not so overwhelming. :star:

Yes, that was part of my pitch to my honey, that her transition wouldn't be too hard to make if we decided to get married. There are malls in Los Angeles that seem like a space warp to the Philippines, with the same quiet sounds of people going about their business. She could get any of the food she likes, her tv stations on cable, speak her language everywhere.

I think rare because I have only seen two more Dutch so far, and that was in the city. (We live in Kansas City, MO.) But in the area where we live, my husband is the only Dutch around

I'd say almost common. In our town there are a lot of Indian doctors, though we don't see many Indians out and about here but I know they exist. Once in awhile we may see them in Walmart or something.

In Tampa where hubby actually works is a bigger Indian population and he works with another person from India, so it's common in Tampa.

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

Rarest

But in the reverse fashion, There are a lot of indians here in the Sillicon Valley, but you don't normally see african-american and Indian mixed marriage so we always draw attention specially when going to indian stores, and some part of town is basically like little India.

In SoCal so when she gets here, she won't be a rarity, except in my eyes!!

There is a huge Thai community in SoCal, the largest Thai Wat (Buddhist Temple) in the US is right here. Plenty of Thai markets and resturants too. The Thai resturant near my house, the owner is from the same region of Thailand as my fiancee. Although my fiancee is Thai, her family roots/culture are Khmer, and there is a HUGE Khmer community here.

She will fit right in!!
