Freeze probably over here.  Highs in mid-40s today.  Again, cloudless sky.  Still far too cool, but lovely.  Supposed to be in lower 70s by midweek, which is as cool as things should ever get.  No busted pipes, so happy.

Fortunately there is a 7kW heat strip in the central AC.  It's getting a workout.  Hasn't been used in some time, but we do turn the heat on once or twice a year.  

Getting ready to put in a new AC to replace the one that is 14 years old.  My buddy owns an AC business and he and I will install something that is rather new on the market and is very efficient and is a heat pump.  Salt spray is horrible on anything metal and it is surprising that this last unit has survived for so long.

 

Just saw on the news that we will be back up in the mid to upper 70's by Tuesday and lower to mid 80's by Thursday.  That's a relief.

 

Was just complaining I don't have my long insulated underwear here.

We also want to move to the Philippines but we have a long road ahead before were ready for that. We were gonna visit Cebu for a few days but maybe next time. Too much going on with visiting family for the holidays. Mostly been in and around Manila. Probably going to Peurto Galera for a few days next week though. Gonna take the whole family with.

Here's from the storm this year in April, 18 inches total. Each pic was taken 24 hours apart and was ONLY 20-ish degrees above zero. Too dang cold to do a sequence like that this time around. Also note that I'm really good at growing dead grass  😬

Not sure about ND, but the white stuff in MI is supposed to be gone by this coming weekend.

This China thing makes me wonder. Hope it doesn't flare up. I gave my Brother in Law a Samsung I wasn't using . He said the Huawei he has is almost impossible to find apps for

As you can see from the above, we have reached peak temperature and reached trough ice volume.
 

The next  Ice Age is in fact due and we can only hope than man made CO2 and other man made green house gas emissions will delay it.  
 

I am not convinced current technology will be enough to allow civilization to survive the cooling when it inevitably comes. Certainly the recent ice storm that affect 47 of 50 states doesn’t give one much confidence. When the ice age comes, those ice storms will be the norm for weeks and then months on end during the winter.  Summers will barely support crops.  
 

There is a reason why civilization is under 10,000 years old: civilization (which requires agriculture) wasn’t possible  until it warmed up.

Yeah but as someone who doesn’t believe in an after life, it does bother me that civilization could permanently end and thus the species will go extinct after the next super volcanic eruption, or major asteroid / comet strikes.  
 

Reversing CO2 emissions is a bad idea.
