Applying for N400, I just received update telling me that they will reuse my fingerprints. Is this a good sign for approval?

If they have your updated fingerprints, then they do not need any. It's another step that shaves some time off with the application process.

This has nothing to do with approval process, just a step before doing background.

Yes but if they are going to not approve my application why do they need fingerprints?

I thought the fact that they are reusing my fingerprints was a good sign about my application.

You are jumping ahead of the process.

You apply, the ask for fingerprints or reuse, then background check, then interview. Once they are all passed, that is when the IO will determine if they can approve or ask for more info or deny.

They just do not approve or deny based on the app you submitted.

BTW when did you apply? it takes 3 to 7 months for the process, that is most aggressive timeline and 90% of them fall in this timeline. Good luck with your app.

I agree with @Misscloud, reuse of biometrics is no sign of an eventual approval, the N409 interview will determine that, so start studying US civics from the available booklet.

Good Luck!

Fingerprints are automatic and they either re-use or take new ones from every filer.  Does not reflect on approval of your case.

Get to studying.  A member failed the civics test the other day and those questions are actually pretty easy if you practice them before your interview.

Filed my wifes N400 online, and received notice of acceptance the same day, then fingerprints being reused the next day, 1 day after filing. Fingerprints have nothing to do with approval, if they are reusing them the only good thing is it saves you a trip to the USCIS office. So you saved some gas money and time is the only positive thing about that notice.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. It is a sign that they are reusing your fingerprints, so you will not have to redo them. Nothing more, nothing less.

Thank you! Any feedback or experience about it would be really appreciated!

It is a standard message. It means nothing other than them telling you that you do not need to go for biometrics.

Nope.   Biometrics are part of every immigration process.   USCIS happily collects biometrics fees for applications or petitions that are later denied.

it just means your previous prints are good enouth to process your application and they do not need to do new ones. still keep your biometric fee though. has nothing to do with approval time
