My DQ date is Feb 3rd 2022. It's now Feb 9th 2023. An immediate family case shouldn't wait this long for an interview. The wait time from original application to DQ was long enough by itself. (Over 2 years).

Sounds like there is a long queue at NVC for the Kenya consulate.   It seems you have had RFEs during the USCIS part of the process.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

This is really disheartening to hear. I had prepared myself for a worst case scenario wait of 12 months - but if you still haven't heard, that means the wait is definitely over 12 months... it's been 11 months for us, and I'm starting to lose hope. I wish they would provide some kind of communication around backlog / timeline so people could at least adjust their expectations accordingly.

Yes I did have RFEs (3) which is a lot but that's for NVC. But after a case has been DQd, more so an immediate family case, one shouldn't have to wait a whole year plus just to get an interview.  These are our families, spouses, children we miss them

It really is disheartening. I personally have even reached out to them (Kenyan embassy) and asked them how come wait time for non immigrant visa interviews is 34 days but we are waiting this long for our children.
they gave me the vague Covid excuse answer

I'm wondering the same question except for spouse..

Is there any way on finding out if Nairobi is even working?! A whole year and no interviews for spouse?!! Why do they make families wait like this?! It's so unfair and hurtful. It puts a serious strain on your mental health.

How do you know there have been no interviews?

We should all come together and file a mass complaint to the new ambassador. This wait times are absurd

I agree. I just saw online last night who they are. I saw a female lady who just came on board November 2022 as well as a male in August 2022. They need to reunite families now. We are suffering being apart for years!!
