I filed for My citizenship in April and in July had my roc approved without interview (I had a cr1 visa). In September uscis showed up at our house at night, I was at work, they brought up some bogus excuse and tried to ask My spouse My name and where I was. She responded and they left. Needless to say the same officer interviewed Me for My citizenship and on My oath ceremony, My spouse whispered to Me that it was the same officer who showed up at our home that night. So yes they do visit and mine was surely because I am cr1 and never had roc interview and My spouse was not needed at My citizenship interview, so I guess they wanted to be sure because on My interview after I passed my tests the officer asked Me if I sometimes work night shifts, I answered yes and he immediately told Me that My petition was approved . Don’t be scared as long as your marriage is genuine it is no big deal, uscis understands that bills need to be paid.

oh congratulations! so they came to ur house after the ROC approved. problem is my husband is only at home from Mon to Thurs. Hes working far from our home and so were only together fri to sunday only. hes a correctional officer so his work schdule is not the usual schedule. which year did  you file? I filed on dec 6 2022 and my biometrics will be on Jan 5, 2023. afater the biometrics what will be the next?

ok thank you. but do they come after interview or before?

It can be at any point during the process but honestly, as long as your relationship is bonafide with no huge red flags, you're worrying for no reason. I have been on this site for over a decade and with the thousands and thousands of people and cases I've seen here, I can count on one hand how many times I've seen anyone have a surprise home visit. Something would really need to be off.

After biometrics you wait and wait and wait.

IF you get that rare visit facetime your husband on the spot and turn him loose.  I know what I’d say if they bothered my wife on an unannounced nighttime visit.  I suspect he’d do the same.  I’d verbally light them up.

I don't think it is a big issue with your husband going for days. In 2020 I was given a conditional job offer as a Corrections officer 4hrs away from My city, this job also needed Me to be gone for a whole week. In My state, you need to be a citizen before you can be a CO so when they realized at the final background check that I wasn't,they didn't move to the next step. That being said, your husband being away for work will not affect your immigration journey as long as your marriage is genuine you can sleep without fear. I was worried about many things too during this journey but everything was smooth. At My interview the officer asked just 3 personal questions to Me and he was very happy I answered them without hesitation, the questions were, spouse's name, spouse's dob and our date of marriage. USCIS has all info they just need you to be truthful, when we filed we had not bought our home yet and I never mentioned anything to them, apart from notifying them about change of address, but they already knew We bought a house without us telling them. They may or may not show up at your home but during any interview,be truthful,it doesn't hurt.
