I do ... Kinda hard to describe, though. I walked around for a long time and found this spot, which has given me far better prices. But I don't quite remember the name, and it is not on KSR proper - closer to Phra Athit Rd.

From KSR, head towards the river side, and take a left when you get to the end. Walk through the Israeli Connection (name? its a BIG place with a restaurant, travel agency, etc) Actaully try them, too, because the place I'm thinking of has the same owners. I never did try them because tyhe line was always out the doo to talk to someone whenever I was there. I guess thats a good sign! Anyway, down their back stairs (it is a common route) and into the back alley. Past the Muay Thai place and take your first reasonable left. It will be 3 store fronts down - it is an Israeli hotel/restaurant/internet shop (10 THB flat fee to use the internet) and the name is in Hebrew and in English (I think)

OR... roughly across the street from teh Crystal Dive Shop, there is a skinny alley. go through that to the end, and it will open up right into the place I'm talking about. You will see the other side of the Muay Thai place, but only if it is open.

Also, check out http://www.12flight.com

And go to www.bookingbuddy.com and use that to search Travel and Trips. I've gotten some good quotes from them, but only if I go through the bookingbuddy site first. Strangely enough.

The difficulty I am having is that if I purchase 2 round-trip tickets, but the flyer does NOT show up for the first half, then will the airline or TSA have a problem with that? I guess I could be on the safe side and puchase a round trip for Nid from BKK to IAD leaving on the return date for me, and have her return date to BKK be 3 months later ????

I have a friend who did not show up on the 1st part of the trip (used another airline) and when he tried to use the return portion of the original ticker, he lost his reservation.

Safe side is to have a ticket originating in Bkk, either round trip or one way. Good luck !

Can't remember the name of the place I always use, I know exactly where it is and what it looks like though! I think I left the business card with my girl, I'll see if she still has it. But it is actually on Khao San Rd., and you could easily miss it cause it is part of a photo developing shop. Lot's of those places are really rude, but this guy and his girlfriend are really cool and try to help you any way they can.

Not sure if they can help you with the round trip from DC to BKK since it originates in the US, I think it's always best to buy the ticket in the country it originates if at all possible...

I'll post again if I can get the exact name, and maybe even a phone number...

There's a friendly/helpful lady across from the Wild Orchid GH. From KSR, head through Wat Chansongkran, through the back oprning in the concrete wall, turn left (this may still be Soi Rambutri but not sure). Take next right down the trok (toward Tha Phra Arthit) it's on the right -across from Wild Orchid. She's in a glass room now, by an internet shop without AC and shoes left outside.

Thanks for all the replies ... got some great leads. I just want to avoid the scams. I think I will wait a couple weeks when (hopefully) Nid has her visa in hand before I make reservations ... reading the latest posts on VJ regarding what is happening lately at Bangkok interviews, I am not getting a real warm fuzzy about her interview being a breeze :(

What have you read regarding BKK interviews? I only read one post about a particular new lady at the embassy that always required addition evidence....was there more?

Yes, primarily additional evidence delays. Nid also needs to do her medical at Bumrungrad. An interesting story I never shared on VJ - two weeks ago I got a phone call from Nid, she was sobbing, she didn't want to tell me but decided she had to - she had lost ALL her Packet 3 forms, all her Packet 4 forms, her passport, her ID card, her house registration, her birth certificate, her divorce certificate, everything (she had kept them all in an envelope, she had lost the envelope in a taxi). I calmed her down, told her we can work this out, we had some time. I contacted the Embassy, explained what happened, and they emailed me ALL the forms and instructions, as well as what to do to get certified copies of all her personal documents, as well as how to get a new ID card and passport. I have said before, Nid is NOT very good with paperwork, and if the interviewer at the embassy is going to 'bombard' her with requests for additional documents, I can only guess the outcome. The story ends positively though, as I got a call a couple days later from her, the taxi driver had found the envelope and called her - she got it all back. If she makes it thru the interview, fantastic. But if not, then I don't want to be stuck with an airplane ticket that she cannot use.

Does anyone know if this person is like the "main" interviewer? There must be more than just her. Guess it would be luck of the draw...or unluck in this case.

My SO got a one way ticket to Memphis with Northwest Airlines for $1000.00, Via Japan and LAX. She has a 3 hour layover at LAX, so that should be enough time to process through.

The other subject that is being discussed here concerning the new interviewer; there are some good reviews about her on VJ in the Embassy review section. I think if you have everything in order, you will be fine. After all if you have everything you are supposed too, then there is no reason for them to ask for additional evidence. My attorney has been dealing with her on an almost a daily basis and has had no problems with her.

Thanks ... we haven't got to that point yet, she will probably do fine, i will find out in 11 days.

Nid wants to finish out the month of August in Thailand, visit her son, her mother, etc., so I will be looking for tickets for after Labor Day, hopefully the prices should drop.

Yeah, you know I have "heard" this on VisaJourney...but we are a very small percentage of the people being interviewed at the BKK embassy. Just guessing...I would say they interview around 30 to 50 a day, but I don't really know. It would be nice to get the statistics. My fiancee' is a member of Thailand's version of VisaJourney, (http://www.usvisa4thai.com/) and most of the girls on that website write about their interviews. She has told me that most people going thru the interview process on that website have had good experiences. On that website it seems a lot more people report how their interview went.

I think that people tend to report more of the bad things that happen than the good. It is just human nature. However, there might be a little truth about the interviewer. I am just trying not to worry and stay confident for Sao's interview next Monday. I feel my application is very much in order with no "red flags", but all we can do is our best and hope for a good outcome.

I will most surely write a long entry when her interview is finished.
