Rejection notice or action!!

Hello,

So after a month long week after I sent my AOS package, I got my application back in the mail with rejection notice reason of "declined credit card".  Now will I have to send my whole AOS application again ? Or just send the authorization form of fees?

I don't know what was wrong with the credit Visa card. It's still valid and working with me.

Is it better to send debit card information on the form that is linked with my checking account or is it better to send a Money order with the application instead?

If they returned everything, send the whole package back with a valid method of payment.

Whichever payment method you choose, better hurry to re-submit the package.  USCIS will release a new edition of the I-485 form on Dec 23rd.  From https://www.uscis.gov/i-485 --

  • We will reject the 07/15/22 edition of Form I-485 if it is postmarked on or after Dec. 23, 2022.
  • We will reject the 12/23/22 edition of Form I-485 if it is postmarked on or before Dec. 22, 2022.

Another reason why I always advocate for Money Order. Get one.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

I prefer personal check. With money order you never know when USCIS used the money, whereas you know when personal check gets cashed. Though, of course, you need to have more than enough $$$$ in checking the account, which for me wasn't a problem.
