My fiancé has depression and anxiety and is afraid we will get denied on the k1 visa, how do we avoid this? What kind of doctor does she need to go to for a letter stating she is ok? What exactly does the letter need to state?

If you have provided everything that the USCIS needs, filled out the form without mistakes, and your relationship is legitimate, then you should not worry that your K1 Visa will be denied.

Did USCIS request a letter from her doctor? If not, then I wouldn’t worry about getting one.

We just sent the k1 visa in last month. They won’t be done processing it for another year or so. We were just wondering about the medical exam and if she would fail because of depression/anxiety

She most likely will not fail because of depression or anxiety.

They may want her doctor to supply a note (it would be good to get one before she goes for her medical) to state clearly that she is not a threat to herself or anyone else.

Is she getting treatment for her condition?  If not, you have plenty of time for her to find a good psychiatrist and a good therapist for diagnosis and care before the medical exam.  She should take documentation of her treatment to the medical, so if asked, she can show it to the doctor.  Depression/anxiety can be treated successfully with the guidance of good health professionals plus effort on the patient's part.  Hopefully you have good health insurance in the US so she can continue treatment after arrival.  Sometimes moving from one country to another exacerbates depression/anxiety.  Good luck!
