Hey Guys

So my wife application got DQ'ed from NVC on November 21 2022, Just wondering how long is the Mumbai Embassy taking for a USC Wife IR1 K3 interview. Or how long is it taking for NVC to forward it to the Mumbai Embassy for a response. Any USC applied for k3 visa ?

Please kindly respond only if your a USC. dont want to know about other visa categories and get confused.

Thanks

There is no such thing as an “IR1 K3” interview
We have a K3.  The chances of your wife getting a K3 visa now are between 0 and .000001%.

If you looked at the timelines (see in blue bar above) and set it to India you would see it is currently taking about 7 months to get an interview.

https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=0&op1=3&op2=d&op3=5&op4=1&op5=5,6,8,10,11,13,14,15,16,17,18,20,21,22,25,26,27,28,108,110,111,208,210,211&op6=All&op66=All&op7=India&dfile=No&adv=0

Don't hold out for a K3 since it is truly the worst of the immigrant visas paperwork and fee wise.  Only 2 given last fiscal year.

So i mean a IR1 US CITIZEN Spouse visa. They used to call it a K3 also . Now i guess they are just calling it a IR1. I meant the same thing.

They were always separate visas.

The timelines can be sorted by country.  Looking at most recent it looks roughly like there are 2-3 months between completing the NVC steps and transmittal to consulate and another 3 months or so ti interview.  4-6 months looks like the most recent windows.

So Mumbai Embassy scheduled Interview Letters in April for those DQ till Nov 14 2022. They got interview letters on April 14 for June interviews.

But no interview letters issue in May so far this month yet. It's already the 22nd of May. Anyone know what's going on . When will people get Interview letters this month for IR1 category ?

Only people working In the consulate would know the answer to this question. They probably do not have the capacity right now and it’s been put on pause, it’s a common practice since COVID
