Hi everyone,

I received NOA2 for my the I129F petition I filed for my fiance one week ago after 14 months wait and now waiting for NVC. However, due to some circumstances my fiance may need to remain in his country for the next 18 months. Can i simply postpone taking an appointment with the embassy for the next 12 months or take an appointment in January, 2024 for instance? or is there a maximum date before which I129F petition becomes obsolete and I need to restart the process from the beginning?

Your notice of action for your approved  I-129F should have language that says "Valid from mm/dd/yyyy to nn/ee/xxxx". My wife's was valid from 9/14/2018 to 1/13/2019. The beneficiary is expended to have scheduled an interview by nn/ee/xxxx.

The embassy is free to extend it.

If your beneficiary wants to extend it, he contact the consulate and ask. But don't be surprised if the answer is no.

NVC is not in charge of the schedule of K1 visa interview for Moroc

your fiancee will need to handle this

Please note that once a K visa petition is approved by USCIS, the file will be sent to the U.S. Consulate in Casablanca and we will contact the beneficiary of the petition directly to schedule an interview date.
