So you’re implying that USCIS officer was making things up? Do you have insights of USCIS? If that’s the case please enlighten all of us here.

Not at all.  I'm implying that the USCIS officer was incorrect.

Yes, the process is demoralizing.  We have all had to wait long periods of time for various approvals.

None of us here know how USCIS works and I am not worried about my GC. But the users reply was negative. It’s demoralizing.

Yes, USCIS is a black box to us, outsiders.

But we've seen enough of its interaction with VJ forum members, members of other internet message boards, anecdotal stories from immigrant friends and daily live immigration show with a laywer that runs on YouTube whom people call to tell their stories.

Please do not take our replies as attempt to demoralize you. A lot of us are in the same boat as you (waiting for decision at different stages of immigration journey). I personally always prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Good luck and I wish you an approval sooner than later.

You also need to know that trying to change or revert your name in mid process can lead to even more delays.

s/negative/realistic/

and you have it correct.

If I had $10 for every time I’ve read here or on Reddit that a tier 1 falsely told customers their interviews were waived, I’d have enough for free cappuccinos at Star Bucks twice or more a week; Grande of course.

A handful of times it’s been true.  Just like broken clocks are correct twice a day.

False hope is worse than realism.

Trust us: we all want  your case to be approved quickly. Aside from concern for a fellow human, there is an ulterior  motive:

The faster your case and  other cases are approved, the faster our cases get approved.

Bluntly our cases are in your way, and your case is in our way.

So when the time comes where there is something you can do to accelerate your case, you better believe we will advise you what  to do to win and we will want you to do it fast.

When you do get your green card please don’t lock it in your car unattended.  The I-90 you will file after your card is stolen will just slow our cases down.

Best wishes.  I am out.
