Hello everyone!

I finally got an interview notice, now facing million questions.

But most important are:

1. COVID vaccine, there non CDC approved vaccives available in Russia, Im confused, my dad has non approved one and he could fly to europe with it.

2. Can I come to his interview, or Im not allowed, I know in states you are allowed, my cousin went with his mom.

3. FInancial docs, weird in interview letter it is said to bring, in CEAC it is said they not needed, if were uploaded, where is the truth?

Thanks everyone for help!

Best as I understand:

  1. He won't need any additional vaccination or proof of test to travel to the interview in Europe. That said, typically people traveling to the US actually do need a vaccination, except for immigrantshttps://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/proof-of-vaccination.html  "The Presidential Proclamation and CDC’s Amended Order do not apply to immigrants (including Special Immigrant Visa holders). An immigrant is any non-U.S. citizen who has a visa listed in “Immigrant Visa Categories” on the U.S. Department of State’s webpage Directory of Visa Categories" IR5 is shown as an immigrant visa, so then he does not need a vaccination. (Sorry, I know its a little weird to explain it this way, but then you have the full picture/explanation.)
  2. You cannot go into the embassy in Warsaw with him, if this is what you are asking.
  3. Most people suggest that you take a folder and bring original copies of any documents you uploaded to CEAC, and most people would also suggest making a photocopy of all the originals as well (this is just because of how it used to be done long ago, just in case the officer wanted to take some document). There is not any problem with taking these to the interview, so better to be 'safe'

SimplyTex, do you think a CDC-approved vaccine is still required for the medical exam? I researched this question after we chatted and it appears it is still a requirement. What do you think?

Yes this has not changed

#3 isnt a suggestion. Consulate instructions state the applicant needs to take the original and a photocopy of all documents sent to NVC

Sorry for the delay, was out on vacation and didn't see the notification.

From other members who have done the medical in Moscow, no, you don't have to have a CDC approved vaccine if the medical is done in Moscow and then transferred to the interviewing post. My wife will be calling them up this week, I'll have her check to confirm this.

Hey, just one other question for you @SadFace - when was your dad's IR-5 case DQed? I'm assuming sometime in October or maybe November? Another member with IR-1 got DQ in late October and scheduled for an interview in December... And my wife got DQ Dec 20 so trying to guess when she might get the interview letter.

has anyone transferred their interview to Kazakhstan or another country? I filed i-130 for my parents, but they don't have a visa to go to Poland, and likely it would just be easier to fly to Almaty to conduct the interview.

MoscowMojo and I have, can pm me
