I'm a J-1 visa holder and it will be finished on june-2023

A restaurant owner offer me to be my sponsor but I'll do all the process and he will provide all documents and signatures needed.

Is that can be done and how I can start??

For what type of work visa? What does their immigration attorney say? What's your area of study on J-1?

Naturalization 2010

@Ahmed Helmy work visa application is not a do it yourself (DIY) exercise. Employer must pay the fees and have lawyers preparing your case. It does not look like your employer understands what work visa is and who qualifies for it. The profession of waiter / barista / host is not usually eligible for H1B work visa for example. I don't believe it qualifies for seasonal worker visa either. There's many people in the USA who can do the job. Usually, work visas require special skill or issued for industries with temporary shortage of workers.

Your best bet is to obtain a student visa, get a Bachelor's degree in a field of study, complete OPT and find an employer who then will sponsor your H1B.

You cannot. @OldUser answer is super clear,

Working visa is not for for your case and the restaurant was no idea how it works.

J1 in your case was a work visa.

Maybe H2b if seasonal/ temporary.

Really down to the Employer to get the ball going
