I apologize if this has been covered before!

My interview notice asks for my spouse's tax returns for the last 3 years. we have our joint return for 2006 but my spouse does not have the previous years. Will this be a problem? is there an easy way to get copies? We have plenty of other information to prove financial stability and a bona fide marriage... basically I need to know if this could prove to be an issue?

Thanks in advance

If your spouse filed tax returns for the previous years then calling the IRS and requesting tax transcripts for those years is an option. They are free and usually arrive within 10 working days.

Thanks. My spouse has filed taxes for several years so calling the IRS looks to be the best option.
