K1 processing time

Hello everyone,

 

I submitted my k1 application Jan of 2021. Nvc notified me that they sent my application to the embassy in Addis on march of 2022. It’s December now and I haven’t heard anything from the embassy. I emailed them a couple of times but I received automated emailed each time. Has anybody experienced this long of a wait time from the time embassy received the application? Should I be concerned? Any suggestions?

It says case is ready for interview. But I haven’t received any letter from the embassy in regards to the interview or the case.

My understanding is that not every embassy sends a letter. Does it allow you to schedule an interview?

 

Have you tried calling the embassy as well?

It doesn’t allow me to schedule an interview. I have called the embassy but the person that picks up doesn’t seem have much info. They just keep telling me to wait until I receive the letter.

Create a timeline and ID the country/embassy and u will get answers from members dealing with that embassy

 

otherwise it doesn't make sense as spouse visa gets a letter but K1 schedules interview and without a letter to schedule

I just completed my timeline.

 

I agree but the person I talked to when I talked to the embassy said to wait for the letter and also the status on CEAC seems to imply that.

I looked at K1 Ethiopia timelines and they all indicate you have to schedule your own interview without waiting for the letter. You can also see that most timelines show that they had interviews approximately 3 months after the petition was received by the consulate.
