That sounds terrible . How did they know the denial was because they rescheduled biometrics and not some other issue with their app?

They got denial letter saying they never showed up for biometrics. I cannot find it right now.

Here is denial after rescheduling I-485 interview:

I got the same one too. Already had a 48 month extension letter last January and got another one today.

Same here. On Tuesday 3/28 I received a second 48 month extension letter. Very random as I had received the first one in late January this year.

They sent it to everybody, whether they had NOA1 with 48 months before or not, by the looks of it.

In looking to the future, what type of stuff should my husband and i be collecting for citizenship? I hope the days of proof are over but I want to be mindful so we arent rushing when we can apply for it.

The same as for ROC. The days are not over if filing under 3 year rule.

if my husbands green card expired march 23, 2023, when can he apply?

are you saying the application requirements are different pending when you apply?

Around January 2024 if still married to you and not broken residency requirements. You can find the exact date following the uscis calculator:

https://www.uscis.gov/forms/uscis-early-filing-calculator

The naturalization requirements under the 3 year rule are the same as AOS and ROC - you need to continue to prove bonafide marriage with finances, insurance, bills, photos, etc.

We filed August 2022.  Submitted multiples inquiries via the website and chatted with multiple live reps across several months to get the canned answer that we just have to wait on it.  It is “normal”, even though it technically isn’t if others are getting the notification.  Hahaha But, you are not alone.
