They don't "lose" it.  Sometimes they just issue a new biometrics appointment, it is normal.  Nothing to worry about.  They just choose to do that sometimes.  As always, no logical process with USCIS or pattern.

I strongly suggest you to become acquainted with the immigration process. They don’t “lose” fingerprints; for some reason they require you to get fingerprinted again.

Hi all! Just wanted to update you all on my husbands case. I submitted his I-751 on January 30th and today we received his extension letter (48 month extension!!!). Good luck to everyone in this long waiting line!!

Another update here: I checked my husbands case status and it says that as of 2/14/2023 his case was updated to show finger prints were taken. Glad that biometrics can be re used!

I was going to mention the same.

@Juls801 I know there are different rules that can apply with the military, but generally speaking you have to be an LPR 3 years if married to a U.S. citizen to apply for citizenship, not 2 years.

We have been married just barely 3 years because of covid it took so long to get the adjust of status it put us over the 3yr limit.

Your timeline states you have received your green card in February 2021. That means you will be a LRP for three years in 2024. It is not the marriage that counts on its own, it's being a LRP for 3 years while married to an USC.

If for example in 2024 you were not married to the USC anymore then you would have to wait until you complete 5 years as a LRP.

The rules are on the duration of your permanent residency with the different timelines if you are or are not married to an USC. Please do not apply for citizenship before 2024, it is gonna be a waste of time and money.

You can verify exactly when you will be eligible yourself with this USCIS tool

One addition - you need to have lived with your USC spouse for the past 3 years - "You are required to have been married to and living with your spouse for the past 3 years and your spouse is required to have been a U.S. citizen for the past 3 years."

So it's greencard holder for 3+ years and the above.

The other commenters are correct, the 3 year rule is not based on how long you've been married, it's based on how long you've been a Permanent Resident + married to your USC spouse. In other words, the date of issue on your green card is when the 3 year countdown begins. Unfortunately, that means that the delay to your AOS process also means waiting longer to file N-400.

Got a "We took an action on your case" email this morning with no actual changes on the USCIS online account, let's see if that changes in the next 24 hours...

Once again I have a new email and no changes, my other process is already closed (I-90) so who knows what's going on with my I-751. Wouldn't be nice if I have good luck like one time and get it approved before the end of this year? One can dream...

WAC got pretty slow in the recent months.

Even prior to this, biometrics for me took around 140 days (close to 5 month) after application was received (not filed).

I got the 48 months letter somewhere in February and randomly I’m expecting a letter from USCIS today according to USPS informed delivery. Online status hasn’t been updated from ‘case was received’. Anyone has any idea what the letter is for?
