Transiting Taiwan using US Passport

Hello, 

Have any of you experienced transiting through Taiwan recently? I just wanted to know if we need to present a negative RT-PCR test or not..

I'm transiting through Taiwan December 29. EVA Air contacted Taipei airport for me, because I was concerned about the length of my return layover. I got a bunch of information from the EVA rep, but in lieu of remembering and typing it all out correctly (translating from my brain to keyboard....) I'll copy and paste a link here from the American Institute in Taiwan, published last week: https://www.ait.org.tw/covid-19-information/. 

Here is the part from the publication that will answer what you asked about: 

Entry and Exit Requirements:

• Are there COVID-related entry requirements for U.S. citizens?  Yes.
  • Travelers who test positive abroad are required to wait over seven days from their specimen collection date before taking a flight to Taiwan.  More information can be found here .
• Inbound passengers no longer need to show a COVID-19 test result prior to boarding a flight to Taiwan.
• Travelers are allowed to transit through Taiwan.  More information can be found here .
• Is a negative COVID-19 test (PCR and/or serology) required for entry?  No.
• Are health screening procedures in place at airports and other ports of entry?   Yes.
• For the latest updates on Taiwan’s entry requirements, please monitor the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control website  and the Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bureau of Consular Affairs website .

No issue transiting a few weeks ago.  Didn't ask for anything (other than my passport and ticket)

It will be easy.   I've been traveling through out the pandemic and this year has been super easy.  Since the US lifted the testing requirement for citizens / residents I haven't had a test done.  Been through Italy, France, England, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, Canada and Mexico.  I'll take my asawa to Philippines in May for her birthday.

 

The only odd thing was having to wear a mask in September between Bulgaria and Germany.
