Hi everyone

I need your advice . i the beneficiary of  an approved I-130 petition ( F4 category) PD isn t current yet.( PD is 9th November 2008 ) . i am also the mother of 16 years old girl who is suffering from multiple autuimmune diseases from the age of 5. she's recently diagnosted with a another serious deisease : LUPUS. she s on medication and chemical treatment but her health is getting worse and worse every day.

i m planning to obtain a medical care for her in the US with the help of my family living abroad. i m gatring all the medical documents, the statement from her physicien and the letter from the clinic in the US ....

my question is : should i send an expedite request to NVC for humanitarian reasons OR apply for medical visa instead OR do them both to save time ( delay of visa appointment ) ?

thank you in advance

B2 Medical but only if money is no issue.

This may be hard to hear but if your Priority Date is not current then they will not expedite. No exceptions. Even with the evidence and letters from doctors and clinics.

The other option would be obtaining a B2 for medical treatment. But you will not only need the letters and evidence from doctors of the needed treatment, but also you will have to show the funds to fully finance those treatments. Also, keep in mind that the medical B2 visa is not an immigrant visa so there would be no path to a green card when you arrive and there would be an expectation for you to leave after the treatment(s).

NVC will not expedite a numerically limited visa (for which there is no visa number available yet), for any reason, including medical.

If she is already receiving treatment, why would she need to come to the US for treatment?

The only option would be a B visa for medical, but with your ties to the US, getting that is unlikely.

The only option would be a B visa for medical, but with your ties to the US, getting that is unlikely.   You will need the cash up front, since you won’t have insurance.   Medical care and drugs in the United States are extremely expensive.   Infusions of immunotherapy drugs for autoimmune disorders like Lupus can cost $20k per dose!

Sorry, I think you’ll have to wait for your immigrant visa PD to become current.

1) "why would she need to come to the US for treatment? ":

There's no doubt that the available treatment here in Morocco, isn't the same as the one in the Unites States and i want the best medical treatment for my daughter.
2) "The only option would be a B visa for medical, but with your ties to the US, getting that is unlikely. ":
Maybe i can show the embassy proof that i have a bigger attachment to my home country (stable job, owned house...) and i only have my brother and sister in the united states. After all, my parents and the rest of my family are here.
3) "and how do you plan to pay for it?" :
Money isn't an issue.
Thank you for your response.

As others have said the best bet would be b2. But not only do you have to show funds, there is a sort of expectation that you need to be able to prove she is traveling for medical care that is not obtainable in your country. So ensure you have that as well as funding.

If i do get the medical visa, i have no intent to stay there. All i want is more efficient treatment for my daughter. After all, i would not want to mess up my chances to get my green card after that.

I am actually preparing for that.

Thank you guys for your response. I will apply for a medical visa instead of sending an expedite request to NVC. Wish me and my daughter luck!

Expedite is usually for the USC

AS for treatment here ,  it would be thru the drs /hospital for them to request u to transfer for treatment

u may be interested in this latest study for lupus treatments/  no harm in trying

Thank you for your response Emily . I sure will .

You will have to find a Doctor in the US that will take your daughter as a patient.  They will have to consult with her doctor in Morocco, and show proof how they will provide her care in the US.

Phase I - IV - Completed the Immigration Journey
