Does CA have the money for this?  I also wonder how this will be proven as couldn’t a recent immigrant from Africa show they have distant relatives that were brought to the US a slaves way back in time.

Now this woke board wants to roll out CA socialism across the country.  Now, if the CA legislation and Newsom approve this massive spending for CA, I can see states like OR and WA following suit closely, but I expect the cost across the US to be astronomical.

 

Aside from that, what about the Native Americans, the Hispanics in the SW, etc.?

I follow a podcaster and his ancestors were slave owners. He’s black. So how does it work for him with reparations when part of his family owned slaves?

1.  He pays the reparation sums as penance for his ancestors' misdeeds.

2.  He files a claim and recovers some because of his black victimhood.

3.  The government ends up spending many thousands on each claim, as happened in "Cash for Clunkers."

Descendants not just relatives.

 

I've got records of my ancestors going back to the early 19th century and they prove nothing.

 

Do they have all the original birth certificates tracing their ancestry? I don't have such records. Do any of you?

Yeah, the story I posted mentioned that many of the folks that would qualify would be non-black.
