The second wedding is back on :dance:

You're fiance has only been here two weeks?

You've got about 75 or so more days to make up your mind. I'd suggest you take them.

Oh sure, it will not be soon. The Abouna who was marrying us, said for sure we have to have more counseling, but he knows of the 90 day requirement. So, once we get back home more counseling and then the wedding.

If he left the USA, how is he going to re-enter?

Or did I miss part of the story (and he didn't actually leave the country)?

TracyTN,

No, he did not leave the counrty. He left the area in which the OP was living.

Thanks for clarifying - I was confused!! (Doesn't take much, LOL)

If it makes you feel better, I was confused about that point too!

It's normal and a natural reaction to the nerves. I hope it all works out for you.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

I think this is beyond the scope of normal and natural.

OP, I wish you well & hope you and your fiance get to the bottom of things so that you can enjoy a happy and long marriage......

JODO, I'll pray that you will get to the bottom of things by COB Thursday, to make a Friday wedding possible.

(obviously, my interest here is due to the gross fee-jackup after next Monday).

I don't think its normal or natural to react that way. Everyone has some nerves the day of, but to take off, means there was something major that stopped you. I sincerely wish you the best and that you can work on what it was that didnt make you show up on the first round... before you guys plan shot #2.

Take your time, screw the increase on 7/30, and work on your relationship.

Good luck (F)

Good idea to do some counseling together. Wishing you both the best and much happiness together.

Isn't it a little bit early in a relationship to already have problems and need counseling

Hey, you're right, there is definitely a resemblance. Andi Peters does producing now, I think; he's quite a big wig at the BBC.

Anyhoo, Jodo, good luck with everything! (F)

No, because you do not know her story or situation. Either way, that is your opinion and I will not speak for the OP here out of respect for her and her SO.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

No, many clergy give pre-marital counselling to ensure that the couple is ready for marriage.

JODO has her reasons and only she knows her situation. It's not for anyone to judge. I wanna believe that this site is for support, but I keep forgetting the reality of it. I personally wish JODO happiness and peace in her decisions and ask God to bless her life in every aspect.

Yes, and I think it's a great idea. Our Lutheran pastor insists upon at least 4 (1-2 hour long) meetings with him prior to the marriage, not only to make sure you're really in love, ready for marriage, believe in God and the sanctity of marrying in a house of God, but to sort the ceremony exactly how you wish. He was wonderful, and having that experience before our wedding, and needing to answer all his questions together made us realise exactly how ready we were (versus both our prior relationship mistakes).
