JODO ~ I'm very sorry you felt this way but, luckily there is some good advice here in this thread. Maybe you just need a little more time and, something to consider, perhaps you would be better getting married in a courthouse where there would be fewer people and it would also seem less intimidating.

I for one hate large gatherings especially if they are all staring at me...the courthouse was perfect for that, just my hubby, myself and a couple of others. Something to think about, perhaps.

Talk to your fiance, because the longer you leave it the harder it will get. He may be angry but let him talk through his anger, anger will give way to tears and then you can both talk it through and get out in the open your fears and worries.

Keep us posted, JODO. (F)

I regretted my first marriage (actually a really crappy civil ceremony and youthful error) the moment I walked into the room, and wished I would have run away at that moment, instead I let them (ex husband's) family control me for 3 miserable months until I finally was pushed to the breaking point. I knew I had made a mistake, but was too controlled to speak up, it resulted in a lot of heartache and #######. People felt I didn't give it a fair chance, but when you have an insane mother-in-law throwing books around the house just because you said want to get an apartment of your own instead of living with the in laws for 3 years (and that is the nicest story I can tell you :P), you start to wonder what sort of nightmare you walked into :P

If you have truly decided this is not what you want, that is okay, but you have to tell him. It's better to have decided not to go through with it than to end up going through a messy divorce. While it was last minute, and poor timing, at least you had the balls not to make the mistake.

How did it go?

Well he said that he was going back to Egypt :crying: because he has given up many things and still I have doubts. However, he did say that IF I wanted to be with him, I was going to have to come to Egypt. He said otherwise the conversation was over :( .

Please dont be suprised by his response....he is probably reeling!!

I am not having a go at you, you both need time to think and regroup about your future.

He will probably not leave like tomorrow, so maybe you should try to meet with him so you can explain how you feel. If he still says he wants to return to his country then so be it.

I awoke with butterflies yesterday and that gave way to nervousness midday and by the time my friend was driving me to the church, I was beginning to feel ill and I starting thinking about all the ways it could go wrong. So I pleaded with my friend to turn the car around and after a heated argument and tears, she did. I honestly cannot believe this has happened and honestly I do not even know what has happened. I am afraid to call my fiancé. I called my parents and they said they were relieved that nothing bad happened to me,but they were very disappointed. So, now I feel doubly horrible. I just really cannot believe what has happened. My mom told me that even after my own family started to leave saying I was not coming, he just sat down and waited :(
