I awoke with butterflies yesterday and that gave way to nervousness midday and by the time my friend was driving me to the church, I was beginning to feel ill and I starting thinking about all the ways it could go wrong. So I pleaded with my friend to turn the car around and after a heated argument and tears, she did. I honestly cannot believe this has happened and honestly I do not even know what has happened. I am afraid to call my fiancé. I called my parents and they said they were relieved that nothing bad happened to me,but they were very disappointed. So, now I feel doubly horrible. I just really cannot believe what has happened. My mom told me that even after my own family started to leave saying I was not coming, he just sat down and waited :(

Without seeming mean, I think you had better talk to your fiance and pretty pronto...

He came over from his country and gave up his life there to be with you.

You at least owe him some explanation!

Please show some compassion for the OP. Mercy goes a long way.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I agree that if that voice inside you is screaming, you better listen to it. But do talk with your fiance as soon as possible. This must be horrible for him. There have been some heavy discussions on VJ the last few days. If you have some new concerns, you need to communicate them to him, even with a counselor to help you if necessary. Communication is so important. When everything is out there on the table, your decisions will be much clearer. I feel for you both. Good luck. (F)

It looks like your fiance only came in about 2 weeks ago as I read some of your last posts. And I saw reference to seeing him two times. This is my story as I thing parts may be similar to yours. My fiance worked on a boat and we would spend only a short amount of time together while he was working (3-8 days). We were then fortunate for him to have 2 vacations: to have a week together at this brothers and then a week in his home country at his mother's. When he came here back in April he had never even been to the States and we had only seen each other in person 6 times, but we had chatted alot on the phone. So we didn't even know if we were going to get married. I needed him to experience life here in the US as well as us to live together. We started off really rocky having to adjust for each other. But we both made changes and soon things were better and easier. So a little after 2 months we decided to get married, a small wedding in my backyard with 10 friends and family. Things are still not as easy as we'd like but we love each other, we talk constantly, and do our best to work through things. Things come in time. For us the biggest thing is for my husband not to work and have to rely on me fiancially. It is hard, he has much pride. I know in time that for us when he can work that will ease him and be easier on the relationship.

So I suggest talk to your man, tell him what happened, tell him your thoughts and fears, you both worked very hard together to have him come here. Spend time together, relax and have fun with him and I think you have til Oct 4 - way way down the road to marry if you both choose. Slow it down - that may be what you need.

I hope this helps :)

wow this is tought stuff , ( kinda reminds me of the movie the wedding singer , defenatly you should talk to your fiance and explain )

another thing is I just read a post from someone who got tricked into marriage ( not saying that you did too ) but this is what I replied there , I dont know your situation but will copy the link here tricky stuff

if that link doesnt work here is her story ( wich is sad ) and my reply

Hi all girls in the forum ..... this is my life story in some words with my egyption husband

he has told me that he loves me ,he has kissed me million of times ,he has hold me billion of times......etc

at the end of the story i discovered that he has been a skillful actor over 2 years and he has used me to get his green card.

i asked my friends here and they told me that my story has not been the first story and it would not be the last one. My advice for every girl who got married from arabs man or egyption or african or indian or pakistanian or jordanian man is to take care and be careful because they are skillful in tricking girls of thier love

don't make my story yours later

Sorry to hear about the pain. But it 's not the country, nor culture or race not even religion. It's the individual itself.

God has plan for all of us.

KayArt

first sorry to hear about your story , I agrea with kay , that why I think its very wise to realy get to know the man/ woman who you planning to spend the rest of your life with , and I meen not only by talkin on line or the phone , ( i seen posts here where couples try to aply for K1 and havent even met in person , I think thats wrong ) for expl I met my fiance 3 years ago in real for the first time , since then we soend every month traveling eather I go see him or he comes to see me, yeah I would say we do know eachother in every way . spending time in person sheds a whole new light then just on line or phone , hes my soulmate , so again am sorry to hear your storry but people plz keep your ears and eyes open realy get to know the person in spending quality time together before getting married , ( not to say you didnt spend time together , 2 years is quality time, this is mostly for people who rush into thinking theyr ready after the first day of meeting in real I read some horror storries here before with people who rushed into marriage ) Lona
