Don't be fooled.  In the promotional interviews for her new book, The Light We Carry, Michelle Obama insists that the book is simply her personal "toolkit" about how she deals with the challenges of "uncertain times."  No, The Light We Carry is not a self-help book.  It is Michelle's crafty attempt to position herself to be the Democrat nominee for president in 2024.  [...]

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I cannot imagine her announcing running in 2024 and not garnering all the votes from all walks of life in the Democratic camp. How does Trump go against her if this does pan out? The public like her. I remember on my way back from Italy in 2019 I bought a copy of “Becoming” at SeaTac, that time believing, perhaps I can relate to her being a black woman. Nope. I gave that book away as soon as I could. I could not relate to her at all. Born  and raised in London is not the same as being born and raised in America. At all. Anyway, I digress…

Personally I have a hard time believing Michelle will run.  I believe she likes her elite status, and has already seen the headaches of being in the WH.
