Visa journey sends me an email with the date.

Thank you for the info! I didn't get any emails from VJ on estimated approval dates.

Actually, the last email I got from them before I updated my timeline (reflecting that I applied for citizenship) was "upgrades to your immigration case? We haven't heard from you in 12 months and wanted to see if there have been any updates to your immigration case.  If there have been, please take a moment to update your timeline.  If you haven't had any movement on your case we hope it happens soon!", to put a dash of salt in my wounds! LOL Just kidding. I know this process takes long. Looooooooooong. Loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong...

anyone waiting for more than 90 days for ROC approval should file a mandamus in court. it only cost 400$ but you will get adjudication of case within 4 months once the case is filed in court.. 2 years is a very long time from what congress wrote in immigration bill

duh

Filing a writ of mandamus after only 90 days seems extreme. And I'm not sure the average layperson could file one properly without a lawyer, which would cost much more than $400.

Agreed on those points. Jim Hacking, the lawyer who's primary business is suing USCIS, does not take cases pending for less than a year. Suing after 90 days of waiting is unlikely going to yield any results. Will probably be dismissed.

you really dont need a lawyer. you can write in simple English. Dont listen to lawyers.  i have filed a mandamus after 90 days of filing my ROC. Court has given USCIS 90 days to adjudicate.

each lawyer will have a different story. one firm will say 6 months another will say 12 months and another will say 2 years. what they say is as good as uscis processing time

Where did you get the 90 days from? Serious question as to why not 180 days or 60 days or whatever.

Many people struggle to even fill out the immigration forms properly or follow other immigration procedures correctly so while some people can certainly file a writ themselves without a lawyer, I do not think it is advisable to state that anyone can file a writ of mandamus without the assistance of counsel.
