Hi again!

So when I say AOS I'm referring to when we adjusted status from K1 2 years ago (i-485 and accompanying forms).  This time around we got accepted the first time.  Both times we were rejected with a form letter saying one of our forms wasn't filled out completely.  I am not sure if it was the 485 or that ridiculous 944 - but we didn't have N/A written in every single blank and that is what I suspect the issue was.

This time around we got our confirmation text and check withdrawn less than a week after filing - still no hard copy NOA1 in the mail though and it's been nearly a month so that's really frustrating!

That's really unfortunate that happened to you on your K1 application! It's such a strict application and the wait is so nerve wracking as well.

Glad you got your confirmation this time, and hope the NOA arrives for you soon!

A swift month later and I've just received a NOA for biometrics. The appointment is in just under 2 weeks time.

Mailed to Carol Stream IL 28th Dec 2022.

Received by USCIS 29th Dec 2022.

Received NOA 9th Jan 2023 (MSC/NBC receipt number).

Received NOA for Biometrics 28th Jan 2023.

We still haven't received our NOA1 ☹️

I submitted an inquiry and am supposed to hear back in late February.

We also got the notification that our biometrics were reused, but my husband and I are stressed about not having the paper proof of extension of green card.  I'm really worried we are going to have a hard time getting this.  I remember for K1 a replacement NOA1 was really expensive....

Also, does anyone else feel discouraged that they have changed the extension time for green cards for ROC to 48 months?! I don't love the expectation that this process could take 4 years!!

I got an extension for 24 months, do you think they are going to send another one for the 48 months?

That's what the announcement states. Although I do worry we'll be back of the line to receive those...

Even though we STILL haven't received an NOA1, we did receive a letter on Saturday stating that my husband's biometrics are being reused and we will not need to come in for biometrics again.  This lines up with the case update we got last week.  It's slightly reassuring that we can still receive USCIS mail!
