Advice on submitting I-485 when we've already submitted I-130

Hi guys, looking for some advice here. I'm from Ireland and my wife is a US citizen, married for 4 years. We got married in Ireland in 2018 and lived together for 2 years before my wife moved back home due to the health of her mother. At the time we decided I'd stay in Ireland while she got set up over there with employment, housing etc and I would visit on the WVP intermittently. We only recently submitted the I-130 with the intention of going through the consular processing avenue and I also arrived in the US at the beginning of November under the VWP so I could spend the holidays with her and the in laws.

Circumstances have changed a little since we submitted the I-130 with the health of her mother and my partner wanting me now to stay to support her and we're looking to see if we can submit the I-485 while I'm still in the country. If we went ahead and filed the I-485 to adjust status would there be any legal obstacles stopping us from doing that? I understand that as an IR the bar on AOS doesn't apply to the WVP in this case but the immigrating intent clause would apply here so I'm just looking to see if there's anyone out there who may have experience or advice to share here. The I-130 we submitted had the US Embassy in Dublin as the place that I'd be adjusting from so also wondering if anyone has any experience submitting an I-485 that may have been in the same position as myself at one point.

Thanks for your time!
