:luv: Hello to the good people of VJ. I'd just like to ask anyone who has recently got a packet 3 from London, what was in it, and how long it took to get it.

I'm just starting out on this process, but I'm just the type of gal that likes to know whats coming up around the corner. So I had scoured the London US embassy about info that will be needed later on. http://london.usembassy.gov/cons_new/visa/iv/ivprocess.html. They list the forms in the packet 3 as DS230 - 1, DS2001, I-864, and the vaccination info. The also inlude the instuction which I'm pretty sure is wrong :

"On receipt of the DS-230-I, the Immigrant Visa Unit will notify you whether or not police certificates are required and advise as to how they are obtained."

However the embassy info on VJ says the the forms in packet 3 are

IV-15 Checklist

Information on how to book your medical

Medical Questionnaire

DS-230-I Part I

DS-156 x2 (Fill out online to generate barcode http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/...electronic.html - Do not sign)

DS-156K (Do not sign) (K1/2 Only)

DS-157 (Male only)

So what's the story???

I don't believe that the embassy guide here on VJ is for DCF - its geared more towards the K visa types.

I would do what they ask of you and let them tell you whether or not a police cert is required.

You may also have luck posting this in the DCF forum (in case no DCFers happen by this thread).

I'm trying to remember what was in ours, it was 10 months ago.

DS-230 both parts

I-864 Affidavit of Support

Check list

Instructions for booking the medical.

Yes you will need a police certificate, if you haven't already done so apply for it now.

I can't think of anything else of significance that was in packet 3, but hopefully someone else will so if I've missed anything.

What to expect at the POE - WIKI entry

Yep, that's what's in P3 still, as of last month. The DS-156, -156K and 157 do not apply to DCF folk. And applying now for a police certificate is a good thing to do now -- they're good for 12 months, and you will most certainly be called for interview before a year is up!
