Obviously it looks better to spend as much time with your spouse as possible, but considering the situation, it might not be possible.  It all depends on how the Chinese government reacts to the recent protests.  I believe the US State Department is advising any USC's living in China to maintain 14 days of supply in case any lockdowns come, and getting into or out of China may be difficult.

 

In any event, even a short meeting to get the I130 moving can be easily explained, and I assume by the time the I130 gets to NVC and eventually the consulate, you will have additional meetings to further prove a bonafide marriage.
