We have submitted the application for the I-130 form last year and everything was going well until our case reached the embassy. We've called/emailed and we keep receiving an auto reply saying" we should be patient due to the backlog and that cases have been resumed for processing ". Our case has been expedited 6 months ago but we still haven't received any response from the embassy. How long does it usually take until they schedule an appointment? Any advice on what steps to take next

From what you're saying it doesn't sound like an DCF ( like indicated in your status ) but the normal consular processing. Is that correct? Where did you asked for an expedite? It has to be done at every step of the way. USCIS, NVC and embassy. You have to ask each of them for an expedite. So if you asked USCIS for an expedite it doesn't mean a thing for the embassy.

Correct.  Lots of missing information here.  Has the case been document qualified by NVC?  If so, it's in the queue for an interview.  When and at what stage(s) was the case expedited?

Thank you for the reply. Yes, it was qualified and my husband filled for an expedite request to the USCIS and was approved and advanced to the National Visa Center on 26th of November, 2021. It was approved on June 9th, 2022 forwarded to the embassy or consulate immediately due to the humanitarian urgency . My question is, do we request another expeditious letter to the the embassy?

Your file is at NVC, so that is the next expedite request you should submit.  If NVC approves and once your file is at the embassy/consulate, you can request another expedite, but that will not speed things up much since once NVC schedules the interview it is typically only a few weeks later.  Focus on the NVC right now and hope for the best.

What makes you think your file is at the embassy.  Usually, it doesn't go there unless there's an appointment. If the Consular IV unit expedited, you would have had your interview long ago.
