This is fantastic! And yay for such a quick turnaround for the oath (I realized that none of us were scheduled for a day that has an oath ceremony baked in. Oh well. But maybe that means that some of us will overlap at the oath ceremony?)

Is there a set schedule for days that have the oath ceremony?

Edit: Never mind, found this https://www.mad.uscourts.gov/general/immigration.htm

Is it worth calling to confirm that my I-751 will be processed/interviewed at the same time?

If your I-751 is still pending, go to the interview prepared for a combo interview.....regardless of what they tell you.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

I got a mailer earlier this week stating that my I-751 interview was scheduled for the same time. This seems to match others experience. Hopefully this is a helpful update for others.

What is the date of your citizenship interview? We have received no notification yet on our pending I-751. My wife's citizenship interview is 3/19. We are hoping for a combo.

sept 2023 filer. was initially a countdown in november. now says case taking longer than expected. any hope on hearing soon ?

This is not uncommon. It happened to me along with several others here on VJ over the last year or two.

The estimate is better thought of as a guesstimate. If there are any delays, that number will change in your online account... or you get the dreaded message you are seeing. Do not hang your hat on anything the USCIS tells you.

It took us almost a year after getting the aforementioned dreaded message before seeing any movement.

The silver lining is I just read an article today... not sure about its veracity... on how the USCIS SUPPOSEDLY got through a significant amount of its backlog in 2023:

So, your wait time may not be as painfully long as ours was. But keep in mind this IS the USCIS we are talking about so everything is subject to change.

Just wanted to share the update from the oath ceremony yesterday. DH was scheduled to give the oath at the Moakley Courthouse. The ceremony was scheduled for 12:30 pm, but in actually started just at 1:30 pm! We were there at 12pm, so the wait was very long. I wish they had communicated it beforehand because many people had family and friends with them, and everybody was just sitting there for more than an hour. Very hard on little kids! Since it was at the courthouse, the phones and any electronic items like Bluetooth earphones had to be left at the security check-in. That meant that we didn't have a single picture from the ceremony! Very disappointing! However, glad that it all is done!

A few questions if you don't mind:

1) Acronym check... what is DH?

2) Did you have your ceremony at Moakley because you needed a judicial oath ceremony (i.e. name change, etc.)?

3) Roughly how many people in total were there today?

LOL DH- dear hubby.

Yes, the courthouse just happens to be one of the places where they schedule oaths in Boston. Nothing to do with a name change.

There were 99 people, one person did not show up. So they must be scheduling in 100 people batches? Who knows!
