RFE for AOS (split)

Hi there!

We do AOS and we got RFE about our income is not enough for sponsor and we should find co-sponsor or submitted additional documents.

But we submitted form 1040/2021 with Total income $31070 for 1 person( household size 2)

Is it some USCIS mistake or what?

Not me. My niece

Her husband signed I-864, she is immigrant

They filed petition in USA, not abroad.

You need to submit IRS transcripts, not 1040.

If you submit 1040, you need to add paystubs

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

No, it’s not. It’s your mistake for not reviewing prior to sending. If you choose to send the tax return instead of the tax transcript, you need 1040+paystubs and optionally proof of employment.
Easier just to send the IRS tax return transcript.
