Money Order Question: Is "US" without the dots ("U.S.") a typo?

Hi, wonderful people from this forum.

So I went to Wells Fargo to finally get the money orders for my filling fees and I didn't notice at the bank but when I arrived home I see that they say PAY TO THE ORDER OF: US DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY instead of U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY. I don't know if I'm being paranoid but does that count as a typo? 😭

Thanks in advance!

Typo.

Gotta get a new one

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Well... we will see what happens in some weeks. I already sent the package lol. My husband told me that it shouldn't matter.

I'll keep the forum updated in case someone else have the same question in the future.

Thanks for the replies! 😃

I just applied for ROC with a money order and wrote US instead of U.S.

Went through just fine.

Hopefully I'll have the same luck! Thank you 😃

So, why not write a check?

I don't have checks and money orders tend to be the safest option from what I understand (because the money is already charged from your account). Anyways I already sent the package like that so let's see what happens.

Yes, but a money order may get lost whereas a check's image is captured when it's cashed. I respect that situations differ, but wherever possible I'd advise a check.

I was able to save a $1,000+ transaction that way (the vendor attributed it to the wrong account - the only reason I got my money back was that they actually wrote that wrong number on the check image).

Update: I got a text message today staying that my case was received and the NOA is on their way on the mail. So I'm guessing they accepted the money orders! 🥳
