My k1 visa has been approved 11-4-22 and we haven’t got the passport back from the embassy. What is everyone’s experience with the timeframe in the Dominican Republic? The website says it should be received in 10 working days. Please advise.

How do you know it was approved?

Until the CEAC status says "issued," best not to count on anything, buy tickets etc.

It says approved on ceac and if you haven’t received your visa in 10 working days to contact the embassy but of course they don’t give me any answers. Is issued and approved not the same?

I've not heard of "approved" as a CEAC status, but "issued" means it is approved and has been placed in the passport to be sent to passport holder.

Okay, then the next status change should be to “issued.”  Depending on how it is to be delivered in your country, I’d guess you’d have it within one week.   Congratulations!

You don’t have to worry, the consulate still working on your case. Approved means your visa application is approved after interview has been conducted. So you have to wait until it shows Issued, that’s when it will be placed in your passport and you will get it before 5 days after it shows issued. My ceac went from application received to approved to issued before I got my passport after successful interview at the embassy.
Ignore the instructions of if you don’t receive it within 10 business day if it has not changed to Issued. The consulate will not even respond.
