How long does a IR-1/ CR-1 Spouse Visa take from start to finish if the petitioner in a US citizen?

18-24 months is a general ballpark estimate.

Senior Master Sergeant, US Air Force- Retired (after 20+ years)- Missile Systems Maintenance & Titan 2 ICBM Launch Crew Duty (200+ Alert tours)

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Maybe.  Many Pakistan cases undergo extended Administrative Processing before a visa is issued.  It could add weeks, months to the process.

The embassy phase ALONE for Pakistan is now 22 months. Most people have been waiting for 3.5 years, with DQ March 2021 only scheduled for January 2023. Hopefully the backlog will be resolved, but right  now you’re looking at a timeline of 3 years.

Thanks.

DQ- documentarily qualified.   This is when all your documents have been accepted at the NVC phase.   Consular phase is when the stateside processes are complete, and you are waiting for the consular interview.

 

Due to Pakistan’s poor /lack of centralized record keeping, the background checks and vetting process are often prolonged.
