There is now further information about the possible background of the U.S.

Embassy's request for additional documents: There seems to be a new

consular officer handling marriage- and fiance visa cases at the Bangkok

Embassy. Within the last week, this official (she is described by our

clients as chinese-looking, with almost no thai language skills) has

handled three cases of our clients (2 K1 and 1 K3 visa), and she requested

additional documentation on all three cases. This is more than unusual, as

we usually have an average of one request of additional documents per year

(as opposed to three per week!). It seems that this new official has a

policy of always requiring additional documents in every case. So it might

not be related to your specific situation at all, but simply bad luck with

the official who was assigned to conduct the interview.

Fun, eh?

Oh just wonderful. My attorney in BKK told me in late June that there was going to be a new person, (female), doing the interviews. He wasn't very happy about it. But this is the first negative thing I have heard.

I can only speak for our case, as I am just guessing that all 3 had different issues. Ours was a requirement for a Joint Sponsor.
