My wife and I filed I-130 in August after getting married in April. Now she has been here visiting from Canada for 5 weeks and we are contemplating AOS. With the 130 already filed what do we do if this is a path we choose?

File I-485, I-864, I-693, I-765, and I-131. Include a copy of the I-130 receipt.

No need for a new I130.  Just include a copy of the NOA you received from the I130 you filed in August.

$1225

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

What are the fees involved with this?

I-485 filing + biometrics fee -> $1,225

I-693 -> no filing fee.  Cost of medical exam depends on the civil surgeon.  Add cost of any missing vaccinations.

I-864 -> no filing fee

I-765 & I-131 -> filing fee waived if filed with or after I-485

One more question. When does the medical come in to play? How far into the process?

If money is no object, file I-693 with I-485 as I said earlier.

The reason  is I-485 interviews  do get waived, more so now than in the 2 years before the pandemic.

IMO, safest to mail it with I-485.

Hopefully she's okay with not being able to return home or work for awhile...

Will call and determine the cost and see if it’s possible for us to do it at the same time as AOS
